More than 10 facts about Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault

Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault will be taking aim on PSN in 2012, as always with yet another suggestive title.

Ted Price, CEO of Insomniac Games, announced to the world today that a new iteration of the Ratchet franchise is in the works and coming later this year. Although information at the time is sparse, comments on the PSBLOG suggest the following tidbits:

The developers promise classic feel, camera, controls and weapons.

The game is approximately as long as Quest for Booty.

It will encourage you to replay it suggesting some kind of online mode.

It will be priced more like a PSN game than a full retail game.

A special innovative online mode introducing a new way to play the game. Maybe this means Time attack, Horde mode or some kind of Co-op play.

The game will not contain any “time puzzles” like in A Crack in Time although another twist to the gameplay will be included.

Vita version is unlikely.

The game will be called Ratchet & Clank: Q-Force in Europe (because of localization reasons) and will also be released on disc.

Captain Qwark will be in the game.

It takes place after the storyline of All 4 One.

The game will be released the same week in both Europe and North America.

It will be a PSN exclusive release.

First… that’s a SILLY name for the european version. Second .. I loved Quest for Booty, so while I would prefer a full sized epic adventure, this will do as well. Third .. that european name is SILLY.

As silly as it sounds, good to know Captain Qwark will be in it! Here are some memorable quotes:

Qwark: I’ll escort you here, to a conveniently exposed thermal exhaust port. We will then endure rigorous calisthenics until we have lost enough body fat to squeeze through the port.

Qwark: Space, its huge. So huge in fact, that if you lost your car keys in it, they would be almost impossible to find…

Qwark: Gotta love Razor claws. Lethal, precise, and stunning to look at! Like me, Captain Qwark!

Qwark: Zordoom prison! A dangerous dungeon of dastardly denizens, death and destruction! A deadly den of devious, desperadoes, damaged by decades of d… uhhh… lets just say, they’re criminals.

I think R&C is a perfect franchise for shorter games, as I usually get a bit fatigued closer to the end on the “full games” in the series.

Can’t wait to make ratchet go commando up your arsenal with his future tools of destruction again ;)

Yeah, episodic games like Telltale does might fit the ratchet games? But i don’t think that is what Insomniac will do it seems. More like some kind of online mode where you compete against others, i have no idea how that would work though.

Same here! I’m really looking forward to play the old PS2 ones before Full Frontal Assault. I just hope they are just as good as the Sly Collection!
