Rise of the Guardians: The Video Game

Rise of the Guardians: The Video Game is based on the series of children’s books by William Joyce. As recently as last year Joyce won an Oscar for his animated short “The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore” and was mentioned by Newsweek as “one of the top 100 people to watch in the new millennium”. The movie, which is also based on the books is made by DreamWorks Animation and features hotshot voice talents such as Chris Pine, Alec Baldwin, Hugh Jackman, Isla Fisher and Jude Law. So what is the video game adaptation all about?

You play as one of the classic childhood legends, including: North (aka Santa Claus), Tooth (aka the Tooth Fairy), Bunnymund (aka the Easter Bunny), Sandman, and Jack Frost. Each Guardian has their own set of upgradable abilities that will help you take on the evil spirit “Pitch” and his infectious nightmares.

Along the way, you’ll unlock new powers and special moves that will increase your character’s strength and skills throughout the game, plus you can unleash team attacks with your fellow heroes. With drop-in-and-out multiplayer supporting up to four players, you and your team of Guardians will have to work together to protect the realm.

The movie looks like a lot of fun, but this … I guess it’ll be a run-of-the-mill tie-in and an easy plat ;)
