I can’t believe I’m writing this, but according to The Official Playstation Blog the missing DLC will be available in February for the PS3 version of Skyrim.
This includes the vampire riddled Dawnguard in which you play as or play against vampires in a supposedly epic battle for the sun. Hearthfire is all about home improvement, but also about playing games with your adopted kids and making sure the bad people lurking around won’t get in. The 1.8 update that make all this happen will be released prior to the launch of the Dragonborn DLC that takes you to the island of Solstheim to battle it off with the very first Dragonborn.
While the date isn’t nailed yet, they have confirmed that the DLC will be 50% off for the first week which is a nice gesture. In my personal opinion at least one of these packages should be 100% off because of ridiculously long wait, but this is better than no discount at all.
So this is it folks. If you didn’t jump platform aeons ago to play these DLC packs, you will have one of the greatest adventures on PS3 severely expanded next month. Click the blog link above to get all the details.
More than anything this really shows Bethesda lack of commitment and you can’t help be disappointed. Did they offer any explanation why it has taken this long to get it out?
I assume it’s related to the technical challenges they struggled with from the get-go. Like the fact that they had no clue how to optimize for the PS3s memory allocation. That it took THIS long though is horrible. Considering they already have experience through Fallout 3/New Vegas (although bug riddled) you’d think they went into this somewhat prepared. Guess not.
