Insomniac joins PlayStation’s Worldwide Studios

You might be thinking “I thought they already were owned by Sony?”, and that would make complete sense. Insomniac and PlayStation has been hanging out for more than 20 years, which has brought a ton of exclusives up until last year’s Spider-Man which has sold a whopping 13.2 million copies. There’s been Spyro, Ratchet & Clank and a whole slew of Resistance games to name a few.

The decision to join forces with Sony extends far beyond familiarity. Our studio vision is to create experiences that have a positive and lasting impact on people’s lives. As we look ahead to our future, we know that joining the WWS family gives us the best opportunities to fully achieve that vision on a much larger scale. Further, we believe that Sony shares a similar vision to positively impact players’ lives, their employees’ lives and the games industry at large.Ted Price, CEO of Insomniac Games

Here’s to more years of Spider-Man, new franchises and dare I hope, another Resistance?
