Disney is about to unveil a new open-world sandbox game called Disney Infinity according to Polygon. Disney’s gaming division lost a whopping $216 million in the fiscal year 2012 so maybe this announcement will help create a little buzz (…Lightyear. Sorry, that was bad). More details will probably be announced in January 2013, according to the report.
The guys and gals behind Toy Story 3, Avalanche Software, is the same studio making Disney Infinity. Toy Story 3 also had some similar open-world elements in a the “Toy Box” mode so it’s pretty safe to assume Infinity will be a lot like that. The new game is said to include characters from several different Disney franchises like Cars, Toy Story, The Incredibles, Wreck-it-Ralph, Pirates of the Caribbean, Monsters Inc and many more. Wouldn’t surprise me if they throw in StarWars characters as DLC later on either.
A well crafted and suspenseful thriller that falls short in originality and poor traversal mechanics
