Free DLC for Gran Turismo 5 today

Get back behind the wheel again in Gran Turismo 5 and take the Corvette Stingray for a spin. Today, on January 15th, Polyphony Digital will release the free DLC pack on the PlayStation Store.

The new muscle car is the 7th generation Corvette Stingray and almost 500,000 people have tried out the prototype since November last year. Now is the time to rev up the real deal.

The nitty gritty: The Corvette Stingray will produce an estimated 450 horsepower and 450 ft. lbs. of torque, is capable of accelerating from 0-60 mph in less than four seconds and will achieve more than 1g in cornering grip. It will also be the most fuel efficient Corvette ever, exceeding the EPA estimated 26 mpg of the current model.

Chris Perry, vice president of Chevrolet Global Marketing was of course pretty stoked about the collaboration with Gran Turismo:

“Getting behind the wheel of the all-new Corvette Stingray – the most powerful, most efficient and most sophisticated standard Corvette ever – is sure to be a thrilling experience. Through this unique collaboration with Gran Turismo, Chevrolet is able, for the first time, to give performance car enthusiasts access to such an exclusive driving experience the day after the Corvette Stingray’s world debut.”

So why not take the Stingray out for a spin on Nürburgring for example?
