Knack will have local co-op made for kids

News about Knack having a co-op mode broke at Gamescom 2013. The game creator and PS4 system architect Mark Cerny explained during interviews that the mode was made specially for kids in mind. Player 2 can join in anytime in local co-op as a robot version of Knack and help out with various tasks, but also do combat. Player 2 can also contribute by collecting parts for Player 1 which essentially means restoring health. Cerny also said that “Progress is gated by what Knack does” which means that checkpoints are determined by what Player 1 does.

Knack will be out on November 15th in North America and November 29th in Europe.
