Uncharted writer Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog

The writer and creative director of the Uncharted games – Amy Hennig – has left Naughty Dog after 10 years at the award winning studio. Amy was working on Uncharted 4 until recently. Apparently her last day at Naughty Dog was Monday this week, March 3. According to a post on IGN, sources claim that she was forced out by Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley – the guys behind The Last of Us. To our understanding Uncharted 4 will now be under their control.

Sony later confirmed that she had indeed left Naughty Dog, but that this would not delay Uncharted 4 in any way. Considering the impact and quality of the Uncharted games, she was a force to be reckoned with within the industry, and her departing is sad news. I hope we get to see more of her talent in future games or other media wherever she ends up.

She seems to be taking it fairly well though, as evidenced by the tweet below.
