Bound is another experimental game from Plastic, the studio behind the super interesting Linger in Shadows and Datura on PS3. Just like their previous games, Bound is also what they call “notgame”, which is a game which isn’t a game which is a game. Or something to that effect. You should give their previous work a spin if you’re curious about the meaning of that.
A 3D platformer at heart, Bound is influenced by suprematism, concretism and neoplasticism in its style. I’m not smart enough to know a lot about those art movements in particular, but I really like words ending in -ism. In its highly stylized world you’ll experience the main character as a ballerina in the shape of professional dancer Maria Udod.
Check out the trailer below for some initial impressions which reminds me a lot of Plastic’s previous games, and that’s a good thing.
A well crafted and suspenseful thriller that falls short in originality and poor traversal mechanics
