Not a whole lot more though, but we’ll get to that. The beta for the 3.50 firmware starts tomorrow. You’ll get one of those fancy emails if you’re in, and if you’re not you’ll get to hear people complain about it on Twitter.
The star of the firmware party is Mr. Social Features and he brings the following stuff to the table:
· Friend Online Notification: You can now get a notice when your friends come online. Not sure I thought this was already in, but I guess you can pick and choose friends to get notifications for now.
· Appear Offline: Because sometimes you just want to be alone. This won’t tamper with other online features, but will make you quite the invisible chap.
· User Scheduled Event: Will automatically create a party at the designated time with all the people involved in the event. Should make it a bit easier to get those playdates on, perhaps.
· Play Together: Party will now show what people are playing so you can more easily join in if it’s to your liking.
And a couple of system features:
· Remote Play (PC/Mac): It’s not in the beta, but it’s coming. It’s remote play, but on a PC/Mac instead of that silly Vita*.
· Dailymotion: New streaming option, and it’ll feature archives.
There’s apparently more in the 3.50 update, but exactly what is secret. I’m betting there something in there to make the PS4 just a tiiiiny bit more stable.
* I love my Vita.
