There is a whole lot of Sonic going on today

Well, this was an odd thing to wake up to. Sega seems to be in full on Sonic mode with not one but three announcements during the night.

First off is Sonic Mania which is announced for multiple platforms including PS4 and will be out spring 2017. This is a 25th anniversary release containing Sonic, Tails, Knucles and a mix of new zones and re-imagined ones. It is made in the 16 bit way that may or may not hate, but is where Sonic started out so that makes sense.

The second announcement is the inclusion of Sonic in Lego Dimensions. Not a huge surprise since every character ever is in that game, but that will most likely be a fun experience nonetheless.

But perhaps most intriguing is Project Sonic 2017 which is a brand new adventure. It will most likely feature co-op as well, but in stark contrast to the other announcements (and recent Sonic games) this looks – dark. Check out the Project Sonic trailer below and let us know what you thing of what’s to come.
