Horizon Zero Dawn sells 2.6 million copies and there’s DLC on the way

As someone who platinumed Horizon Zero Dawn the other day, I can attest to its greatness. Well, not because I platinumed it, but because even after exploring every nook and cranny, doing every main- and side quest, found everything there is to find, I’m still eager to go back and hunt some dinobots in some of the best looking environments in a long time. Or more to the point, I get why it sold 2.6 million copies in two weeks, and I’m sure it will sell more.

The numbers include physical and digital sales, and they are sell-through numbers, not shipped to stores. As a part of the press release, managing director Hermen Hulst dropped another interesting bit of news:

This is only the beginning of Aloy’s story and our exploration of the world of Horizon Zero Dawn, with the team already hard at work on an expansion to the story.Hermen Hulst, Guerrilla Managing Director

Count me in.
