All the way from China comes The Oriental Exorcist, a side-scrolling action RPG that, based on the announcement trailer alone, both look and sounds the part.
No one likes when their own country gets infected by monsters, which is why we have our exorcist hero. The Oriental Exorcist looks like a 2d side scrolling mix of the various Souls-games (including Sekiro and Bloodborne), where stamina and timing plays a crucial role. The hand-drawn aesthetic lends itself well to the action intertwined with cut-scenes straight out of a painting.
It all looks rather excellent, and probably hard as nails.
The game is developed by Wildfire Game and expected to release next year.
A well crafted and suspenseful thriller that falls short in originality and poor traversal mechanics
