Godfall announced for PlayStation 5, in which you will loot and slash

Developer Counterplay Games seem really keen to coin the genre loot-slasher for their upcoming third person action rpg Godfall. I’m not falling for it, at least not yet. Godfall is one of very few games properly announced for next year’s PlayStation 5. The game is set to release around its launch, which means you will be looting and slashing holiday 2020.

Godfall focuses on melee action, and aims hard at triggering your everlasting need for better loot. The game can be played solo or together with up to two of your buddies.

We’re innovating with Godfall to provide a fresh take on action RPGs by rewarding skill-based offensive gameplay and making every hit matter. Namely, we want to feed into that yearning for the next best piece in your character build, so we plan to provide plenty of loot to players to ensure there’s meaningful impact to gameplay and playstyles.Keith Lee, Creative Director of Godfall and CEO of Counterplay Games

It looks cool, but we know little to nothing about console specific bells and whistles right now. More on that next year, I guess!
