Rise of the Tomb Raider and a temple worth of content arrives October 11

Holding out for Rise of the Tomb Raider on PS4? Afraid you’ll be somewhat shortchanged when it arrives? Have no fears, tomb dweller, for Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration contains more playable loot than you can shake an Aztec vase at.

Let’s start with the game, because that’s probably what you’re here for. Well, you can check that box right away. All previously released DLC will also be included, which means you’ll get to adventure through Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch and more. There is also a new story chapter called Blood Ties. It will have you explore the mansion, claim ownership of her mansion and then fight off zombies because why not.

If you’re into co-op and the endurance mode, you will be delighted to hear that the two will marry happily in this version. And if you enjoy getting your nostalgia buttons pressed, several skins from the first games will be usable throughout the story for that low-poly tomb raiding. Another fine addition if you really hate yourself is the extreme survivor setting which strips the game of checkpoints.

But perhaps more important to PlayStation fans is a VR mode that ties in with Blood Ties. I expect a walking simulator of sorts in which you explore the mansion, but more content is better than less content so let’s hope it’s worth while.

This whole thing will launch on October 11 and there’s a special edition coming including an art book for those that enjoy those.
